Mrs Leck is Shade's Geography leader.
At Shade, we aim to inspire pupils to make greater sense of the world by researching, organising and connecting information and ideas about people , places, processes and environments.
Our scheme of work follows the National Curriculum requirements and teaches pupils about the four key aspects: Locational Knowledge, Place knowledge, Human and physical geography and Geographical skills and fieldwork.
Geography is taught during three half terms over the year. We focus on Local Geography in Autumn 1, National Geography in Spring 1 and International Geography in Summer 1.
Geography is an integral part of our curriculum and we use a variety of teaching and learning styles in our lessons in order to engage and inspire. Links are made to other subjects , trips and visitors and displays around school wherever possible.
