Mr Green is Shade's PE leader.
Mrs Rez is part of the PE team. She teaches PE during PPA and runs extra-curricular sports clubs.
At Shade our scheme of work follows the National Curriculum requirements and to help get a broad and balanced curriculum we use the Twinkl lessons plans, which enables the teachers to develop a wide range of skills over each year group.
The curriculum also allows the children to be inspired, to succeed and excel in competitive sports and other physically demanding activities.
During the sessions the children will learn to play;
- competitive games.
- Athletics
- Gymnastics
- Dance
KS1 - Children will taught:
- To develop movement skills, opportunities to extend their agility, balance and co-ordination.
- Master basic movements.
- Participate in team games.
- Perform dances.
KS2 - Children will be taught:
- To develop a broader range of skills and to use them in different ways.
- Link actions and sequences.
- Enjoy communicating, collaborating and competing.
- To learn to improve, evaluate and recognise their own own success.
Swimming -
At Shade we swim from Year 1 to Year 4 with extra lessons for some Year 5/6 children if required.
The children need to be:
- Confident and Proficient over 25m.
- To use a range of strokes.
- Able to perform safe self rescue.
